Medicare

Medicare supplement insurance plan E breaks the chain of continuously improving upon the benefits of each preceding plan (as we saw in plans A, B, C, and D).  Instead, it offers something not found in Plans A-D: preventative care coverage.

Medigap Plan E benefits include:

  • Core Benefits (Plan A)
  • Coverage of Medicare Part A hospital deductible (Plan B,C+D)
  • Coverage of skilled nursing home costs. (Plan C+D)
  • Coverage in the event of a foreign travel emergency. (Plan C+D)
  • Preventative Care - Up to $120 per year on preventative services that are not covered by Medicare.

Plan E does not cover at-home care, but does cover some preventative maintenance. As you can see, this plan is designed for someone with specific needs, and therefore it’s critical that you talk to a licensed agent to get help determining which plan is right for you. Remember: All plans offer exactly the same coverage - no matter which private insurance agency you use. Because rates DO vary, you won’t know if you are getting the best rates possible without shopping around.
